Race Calendar & Results

Qualifying on the GP circuit on the Friday of this AIGP weekend.  Dry and warm was a pleasant change to some recent events.

With some very quick Morgans and Tigers I was reasonably pleased with 5th in 1.43.006, quicker than I had gone last year. 

Race 1

An engine problem for Mr Cochrane meant I began in 4th place.  The rolling start with 45 cars must have been quite a sight. 

I was up to 3rd by lap 8 then after my pit stop (penal for single drivers1) I resumed in a distant but comfortable 3rd which is where I finished.  So another Heritage podium.

Race 2

A rolling start from 3rd and soon the flying Morgans were pulling away from me, but I was pulling away from Tony Jardine in Bob Searles V8.  It was not to last however as on lap 5 the CV joint that had been replaced since the previous one broke at Mallory also broke.  Very annoying!! There was nothing more I could do except head off to Donington for the Masters Series.

Qualified: 5th in 1.43.006 @ 129.4kph

Race 1 Result: 3rd in 42.23.244 @120.6kph

Best Lap: 1.43.180 @ 129.2kph

Race 2 Result: Retired on lap 5 due to broken CV joint.

Best Lap: 1.43.654 @ 128.6kph
