Race Calendar & Results

Another sunny weekend at Snetterton as supporting cast to the Touring Car chappies.  I would do the shorter race on my own and the longer race with Boisie. 

Qualifying went quite well and I secured 4th place in 1.14.772, my fastest lap yet at Snetterton.  Boisie had done an amazing 1.13.1 in the Camaro! 

Race 1

At the start of the race we settled into our qualifying positions but I was close to Jackie Cochrane in his Tiger.  On lap 7 I managed to pass him at the end of the Revett Straight.  On lap 9 I led as the others had pitted for their driver changes.  I kept out and in the lead for 5 laps but had to pit before 'the window' closed.  A quick run around the car and off again in second place but adrift from Boisie in the Camaro and that's how we finished.

Race 2

On the front row alongside Roger Bennington in Arthur's Camaro.  A rolling start and at the first corner I kept going and pulled in front of the Camaro.  By lap 4 the Talbot Lotus that had started near the back was in second place and in view in my mirrors but still behind me when I pitted to hand over to Boisie.  Unfortunately he was a little eager leaving the pits so after a couple of laps he got given a drive through penalty signal!  Boisie kept lapping and when the Talbot Lotus pitted on lap 19 we lead again.  On lap 24 the flying Tiger now driven by Fyldes who had got down to 1.12.7(!) took the lead but then expired. 

By now the Lotus was closing and the enforced drive through penalty was just enough to make the difference so 2nd again was our reward.

Race 1: 2nd in 31.38.230 @ 88.84mph

Race 2: 2nd in 40.56.057 @ 88.69mph
