A spot of training
In an effort to get a bit fitter for this years racing I went with my wife and some friends to Snowdonia National Park to do some hill walking, which seemed like a good idea until my friend Barry McGuigan, ex World Champion Boxer, decided he was going to be my fitness coach. There is nothing relaxing about hiking up a mountain with a heart monitor strapped to you and Barry saying “faster, faster!” By the end of the week I was exhausted, indeedI hardly had time to enjoy the scenery. However I am hopeful that by the first race at Oulton Park on Easter weekend I will at least be able to walk again. I also now know why we all enjoy utilising the internal combustion engine!
